Custom Storage Tank Fabrication

Tate manufactures custom steel storage tanks for chemical, water, biofuel, biomass, petrochemical, thermal energy and other industrial applications. Capabilities include carbon steel and stainless steel tanks, API tanks, shop-fabricated tanks and large field erected storage tanks.

API 650 generally applies to welded tanks designed for atmospheric and relatively low-pressure storage, while API 620 covers tanks designed for higher pressures and certain lower-temperature applications. The appropriate standard depends on the product being stored and the tank's design and operating conditions.

Yes. Tanks that can be transported efficiently may be fabricated in Tate's shop and delivered to the project site. Larger tanks or tanks restricted by transportation and site conditions can be fabricated in sections and erected on-site by Tate's field crews.

Tate fabricates tanks from carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex stainless steel and other alloys. Material selection is based on the stored product, operating environment, corrosion requirements, temperature, pressure and applicable project specifications.
